ABOUT ME.My name is Julia. I am 27 years old. I am fully qualified therapeutic masseuse. (2 years of experience) I`m qualified in Hot Stone, Swedish and Anti-Cellulite Massage.
Indulge in a Hot Stone Massage. Have you heard about hot stone massage? If you have never experienced this unique indulgence, you owe yourself this exquisite moment. Stone massage is a unique connection we experience with nature, offering a sense of profoundness and sacredness that we too often forget. It's a deep healing and unique moment that enhances our awareness and brings us closer to our true essence. It is the perfect treatment that is as enjoyable and healing for the client as it is for the practitioner. A hot stone massage is a massage that uses smooth, flat, and heated rocks placed at key points on the body. Generally the rocks used in a stone massage are basalt, which has high heat retention qualities. Stones are placed in a water and heated to approximately ~52C, before placement on the body. The stones are usually placed on specific points on the back, but can be placed other places such as between the toes, or in the palms of the hands. The heat of the rocks causes muscles to relax, thus allowing the therapist to apply deeper, more precise pressure if desired or necessary. Hot stone therapy is a highly relaxation type of massage. The stones themselves actually become the tools that you use, and the heat helps to relax the muscles and assimilate the circulation, allowing the toxins to come up to the surface of the skin. At the same time, we incorporate a Swedish massage technique. It helps to release the muscle even further, because of the heat.
Who Shouldn't get Hot Stone Massage? Hot Stone massage is not appropriate if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or are on medication that thins your blood. You shouldn't get a hot stone massage if you are pregnant or have a sunburn. You also may want to reconsider if you are menopausal, as it may trigger a hot flash.
Those experiencing a hot stone massage will notice a healing improvement of the following symptoms: - Muscular aches, pains, sprains, and strains
- Poor circulation
- Rheumatic and arthritic conditions
- Fibromyalgia
- MS
- Back pain
- Stress, anxiety and tension
- Insomnia
- Depression
Hot Stone Massage Treatment. Now because the temperature of the stones is very hot, it could be a little extreme when you initially touch the skin. So I just like to roll them in my hands a little bit and allow the heat and warmth of the stones to generate into my hand - and then introduce the warmth through my hand first. And then we go right in to use the stones. I am really just going right in, like I would do Swedish work. I would go right into the muscles tissues and working the muscles as I would with my hands, but with the actual warmth of the stones. I use probably about 64 stones within a session. They vary in size so you can work different areas of the body. Stone massage makes you feel deeply relaxed, allowing you to let go of all the stress that is held within your body. It is really an amazing experience to offer to the genuine clients.
